Year 6 had great fun finding a variety of angles on our playground. They had the task of seeking them out, trying to find ones that no one else had thought of and a group selfie! Following this they made a pic collage of their results. Well done everyone.

How Children's Rights were removed during the Holocaust - UNICEF linked topic research
To conclude our War Child topic year 6 have been linking the UNICEF rights to their historical research into the Holocaust. We are very proud of the mature attitudes all children maintained during this activity into what is a very emotive subject. Through their answers it was obvious to see how much information they have taken on board throughout this topic.
Well Done Year 6, we hope our new topic Perilous Poles continues to inspire such thoughtful, high quality work!

A wonderful interview with a governor
Thank you so much to Russell who came to visit Year 6 to tell them all about his families experiences during WW2. We loved hearing about how your aunty and uncle escaped and how they managed to bring this with them. Many Thanks
Creating electrical circuits in Year 6
6W had an interesting afternoon attempting to build parallel and series circuits with different amounts of bulbs and cells. We had loads of fun trying to add more and more batteries to the circuits and seeing what would happen

Year 6 Freeze Frames
In our English sessions, we used the freeze frame drama technique to demonstrate how the villagers might be feeling when first seeing the mysterious doorway to the 'Nowhere Emporium' (by Ross MacKenzie) that arrives in their village during the prologue off the book. We are now using this to write a conversation between these characters outside the magical shop.

The whole of Year 6 had a fabulous morning handling World War Two artefacts, discussing their uses and how they relate to our Topic. They have generated some amazing ideas.
